And, October 8th, 7 PM, Kunstarken: Pitching evening for discussing ALL of YOUR ideas on how to develop formats and conceptual ideas for KLP, the print making Workshop obsolete propaganda machine we have, the KiT gallery, the KiT gallery Window, and finalising how we organise (or disorganise) our plans. This evening will include both the MFA and BFA classes around exhibition making and curating.

Class on nails, tools, logistics, discourses, contexts and exhibition making:

This is a “hands on” class which has the intention to make Galleri KiT into something as important for Trondheim as the Transmission Gallery once was for Glasgow.

I have no idea how to do this honestly. However this class is an attempt to find visions about how to make our gallery into an amazing space, presenting memorable exhibitions important to our community and beyond.

We will learn how to develop a website for this gallery, and how to create a vision for this space with poor financial means, learn how to develop and exploit these rooms, which both have a commercial potential, and should be used for pro-actively moving culture forward in Trondheim, while also developing discourses within KiT and NTNU linked to the PHD research going on. Aside of the KiT gallery we also have a large space at KLP Eiendom in Teknobyen to play with, exhibitions for which they provide a reasonable budget.

If you are up to running these spaces with me, please feel free to join this class which runs on both BFA and MFA level simultaneously.

We will have a look at how artist run spaces, curators, artists, universities, researchers, commercial galleries and art activists present and run exhibitions, presentation platforms, etc. All in order to find methods for our endeavours.

Galleri KiT is not only a gallery, it is also an interface for developing our education and to put us in dialogue with our surroundings.

Your input will be the content. I will be your facilitator by hopefully giving useful ideas, methods and references for running this curatorial undertaking.

We meet every second Tuesday 12:00-13:00 in the KiT kantina, and take all further decisions on longer meetings and practicalities from there.

Learning metods: Workshops, seminars and lectures.

Learning outcomes: You will learn how to address audiences.

No preparatory knowledge is needed for joining from KiT students, but we do demand interest, presence, engagement, attention and participation for you to join this class.
