‘End of Comfort’ is activating thoughts and emotions towards the conscious action of pursuing challenges and sorts of resistance. An anxious pleasure driven from being freely lost, from not seeing anything clearly and not really knowing anything for sure.

In this exhibition Øyvind Novak Jenssen and Andreas Wallroth explores ways of artistic process, presentations and collaboration. With a light-hearted interpretation of the exhibition title they explores different methods through working alternately with initiated processes - handing over a work to be altered, giving instructions or using the other’s notes and studios. This use of different working methods aims to loose control over the result and presume the ability to making greater intervention which might generate a fruitful merge.

About the artists:
Andreas Wallroth, 1987, Lidköping, Sweden, lives and works in Trondheim, Norway, works with painting, sculpture and installation. A collage-like visualisation where elements with wide references to mass culture, graffiti, and nature is set up against each other. Using the layering and fusion of diverse visual languages, such as combining figuration and abstraction, which in their dialog is an exploration of physical and mental spaces.

Øyvind Novak Jenssen, 1988, Drammen, lives and works in Trondheim, Norway. Øyvind uses a big variation of media, formats and materials in his working process. As a former chef he often use working tools, methods and materials from his profession. With focus on natural processes where elements such as time, light and heat have a central role. He organizes it all, but the different abilities of the materials shapes the end result, and where the control is never total. The work is often installation based, but can also be abstract two dimensional surfaces.

Both artists are second year bachelor students at the Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts, KiT.
