The library serves the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art. Following a 50-year independent history, the Academy was merged into NTNU in 1996 and is now part of the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Art. The library opened in 1988, initially in the context of the Academy, and was incorporated into NTNU Library in 1997.
The Fine Art Library has an extensive collection of printed books, encyclopedia, and journals in the relevant subject areas, in addition to various graphic prints. The library also a collection of fanzines, artist books, DVDs.
The Fine Art Library offers many kinds of workspaces spread around the library. Individual workspaces are available, and you can book a group room. The library has both PCs and Macs available for NTNU students and staff, as well as facilities for both scanning and printing.
The material we do not own can often be borrowed from other libraries. Through the Oria database, you can access the collections of 17 different libraries located throughout NTNU, as well as research libraries in Norway.
