Into the Pink Sun (Graduating Master Exhibition 2022)
Into the Pink Sun is generous, speculative, and rich, thematically reflecting the ethos of the KiT class of 2022. Through explorations and inventions in materiality, media, time-based art, performance, and social practices. The group's collective experience has been fractured as they attempted to navigate the shifting conditions of the world during the two years of the Master's program and the pandemic 2020 - 2022. The interweaving nature of their exhibition reflects this: their works living in many venues and configurations, yet they maintain a sense of a whole. The title, Into the Pink Sun, acts as a symbol of hope and imagines of different and new futures as they say goodbye to Trondheim’s pink skies.
Into The Pink Sun is Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts’ first ambitious satellite exhibition, with 20 students from around the globe displaying works across 18 sites in Trondheim city center and venturing out to Nils Aas Kunstverksted in Inderøy. A digital map guides the public ‘parcours’ style to all the sites and events taking place throughout the Trøndelag area over three weeks. The parcours is an opportunity for visitors to consider how they approach and experience art, offering a rediscovery of the city, its locales and non-places.
There will be a digital map www.intothepinksun.com live next week and for the duration of the exhibition 14th May - 12th June. Get to know the artists, discover the full program/timings and keep up to date with guided parcours, in situ art discourses and art parties.
