Last year, NTNU ARTEC (Art and Technology task force) announced their first Artist in Residence program to display art pieces in Adressaparken, and JODI was one of the winning contributions with theWiFi4Garden.
JODI, or jodi.org, pioneered Web art in 1995. JODI were among the first artists to investigate and subvert conventions of the Internet, computer programs, and video and computer games. Radically disrupting the very language of these systems, including visual aesthetics, interface elements, commands, errors and code. JODI stages extreme digital interventions that destabilize the relationship between computer technology and its users by subverting our expectations about the functionalities and conventions of the systems that we depend upon every day.
Their work uses the widest possible variety of media and techniques, from installations, software and websites to performances and exhibitions.
What is Adressaparken?
Adressaparken was established when Adresseavisen moved into new facilities at Verftstomta. The technological infrastructure of the park is a joint cooperation project between Adresseavisen, Trondheim municipality, and NTNU. The park is a laboratory for researchers and students at NTNU.
The new outdoor space in the technology capital of Trondheim will be a vibrant laboratory for research and innovation, testing of new solutions, social debate and communication of knowledge related to art and technology.
