Seminar with Hildur Bjarnadottir

Thursday, October 1, 2015 - 19:00

We, together with Norwegian Textile Artists and Soft Moments, have the pleasure to invite you to an artist presentation and talk with Hildur Bjarnadóttir and Jeremy Welsh Thursday 1 October at 7pm.

Hildur Bjarnadóttir is currently a research fellow in the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme at Bergen Academy of Art & Design's fine art department. In her research project, Textiles in the extended field of painting, she explores a piece of land she recently acquired in the south of Iceland through the plants on the land. Hildur sees the plants as recording devices to the ecological and social system they belong to and she explores through them complicated issues of belonging to a place today. Her practice is interdisciplinary, drawing on textiles and painting. Her presentation will give an insight into her projects both before and during her time as a research fellow. Jeremy Welsh is an artist and professor at Trondheim Academy of Fine Art, NTNU.

The presentation and conversation will be in English. Free entry.
