PhD Mid-Term Presentation Martinus Suijkerbuijk
On December 15, Martinus Suijkerbuijk will present his Artistic Research project as part of his PhD. The presentation will take place in Kunstarken at 4PM (entrance at Kirkegata).
Under the title of my Phd Project
Virtual Machining the Artificial Subject: An Inquiry in Computational Aesthetics
unfolds a concatenated narrative of Artificial Intelligence, Aesthetic Agents, Procedural Generated virtual worlds and Synthetic Ecology. In the presentation I will elaborate on the question: Can an aesthetic environment, given any arbitrary input data, create an optimized perception system (aesthetic agent), that can learn the aesthetic rules of the environment? Besides the presentation of his theoretical and practical research, the presentation will conclude with a short demo of an aesthetic agent exploring a virtual environment. Hope to see you there.
