This January, Kunstakademiet i Trondheim hosted an intensive English-language Experts-in-Teamwork village, “North by Northeast: A Free Passage from Norway to China” with generous support from NTNU Engage. The theme of the village dove into the tremendous consequences of climate change which will fundamentally reshape our understanding of the North. Mina Paasche, I was blind until I met you, sound installation, 2019.
Through the artwork, you can see, from a bird's-eye view, an indigenous person with visual impairment in Bymarka in Trondheim, Norway. The project is part of more than a one-year collaboration with Hawkilara K. Axelsen where I have recorded audio and video about the quest for autonomy, freedom and security. In connection with hens work on echolocation and sound navigation. Sound design in collaboration with Mikkel Konyher.
