Graduated in 2009 with a BA from Sint-Lukas Brussel and 2012 with a MA in Fine Arts from Bergen Academy of Art and Design. Wanthiang’s practice is a non media-bound investigation into the conditions for sharing experiences and narratives of (be)longing. Thus far she has constructed environments with painting, video and performance in order to study how it influences our perceptions, behaviours and interactions. Often in collaboration she works towards clusters of activity, where one can exist in the complex in-between space of migration and diverse histories and traumas. In doing so she’s attuned to the implicit, the anecdotal, the unspoken and embodied. She has previously been showing works in exhibitions such as From X into Minuses at Martin Van Blerk Galery in Antwerp, Belgium (2009), Geography of A at Hordaland Kunstsenter (2012), without waiting for her reply at USF-visningrommet (2014), While The Light Eats Away at the colors at Stiftelse 3,14 (2017) – the latter three exhibitions took place in Bergen, Norway.
