Edvine Larssen will create a unique architectural site-specific installation dedicated to our showroom. The audience will enter Larssen’s artwork immediately inside the front door – where the artist’s use of strong theatrical effects such as light and shadow will dramatically affect the audience’s experience of a staged room. Larssen’s fascination for Japanese aesthetics is a recurring inspiration and theme in her work. The title is taken from an essay from 1933 where the author Junichiro Tanizaki describes the human perception of shade and our aesthetic spatial experience. Edvine Larssen (b.1977, Mosjøen) has a Ba. with honours from Kingston University, London and MFA from Trondheim Academy of Fine Art. She is a research fellow in the Norwegian Artistic Research Program at KIT/NTNU.
