Art and Common Space welcomes Fulbright Scholar Mary Sherman to our class and would like to invite everyone to join us on May 30th. at 11:00 to hear her speak about her own studio practice, which takes painting into the realm of time and space with sound.

Then directly afterward stay and join us while Mary leads a dissucusion on the life of an artist, or how to survive despite all odds.

Alongside her art practice, Mary founded the nonprofit TransCultural Exchange, perhaps, best known for its biennale International Conferences on Opportunities in the Arts. She also teaches at Boston College and Northeastern University and, in 2010, served as the interim Associate Director of MIT’s Program in Art, Culture and Technology. Additionally, for two decades, while pursuing her career as an artist, she worked as an art critic for such publications as The Chicago Sun-Times, The Boston Globe and ARTnews. She has received numerous grants and awards, including three Fulbright Specialist Grants and been an artist-in-residence at such institutions as MIT and the Taipei Artist Village.

We look forward to seeing you in Kunstarken on wednesday 30th of May.
