Alexander Furunes is an architect and PhD candidate at NTNU. He has worked on various architectural projects, most particularly in India and the Philippines, that have an aspect of hospitality to them. At Tacloban, in the Philippines, which was hit by Typhoon Haiyan in 2014, he carried out both a building and then a rebuilding project. He works in collaboration, and his group recently won an important architecture prize for their work. Most recently he has been working in Sao Paolo to design a language of protest, produced on banners for deployment in metro stations around the city.
